I donot know a great deal about printers, but I'd say your drivers need reinstalling.

Hi

my printer is an Epson 400 ................
.never had any problems with it.

I have windows 98, and yes I did uninstall and it still said....... "unable to start spool manager........." "error while spooling"

What does this mean, and how can I find/fix it??

thanks again, and if there are any other message boards for printers, I would be greatful for the link.

Try printing directly to the printer. Start/Settings/Printers or Control panel/Printers. Right click your printer and select properties. Click the details tab. Click spool settings. Select "print directly to the printer". This should bypass the spool manager and determine if the printer and connections are OK. You can print a test page from the general tab. Let us know if this works.
