    finding cpu socket type

    ok i have an older computer 01 that im slowly upgrading but i'm not sure of the socket type of the cpu or mobo type and how much the mobo can support in ram cpu hhd ect

      Sometimes on the Ziff socket there will be a socket printed on it.  Otherwise you'll need to run that utility program, Everest is the name I think, to get the motherboard type.

      When you get it, go to the manufacturers site and see the socket type.

                  i got a 1.4ghz IV


                  i got 384 in it right now i just got my 512 stick in friday

                    Quick question;

                    I recently heard about Rev A & B motherboards and Rev A & B processors. A & B are not compatible, it has to be B & B or A & A. How do you know what revision you're buying when you are online and why is this so?
