Usb flash drive

I have a computer that the cd drive doesn't work, so I am not able to install new programs.  I need to transfer some pictures to another computer, can I use a usb flash drive, or do these require a program to be installed to use.  Thanks

You might need drivers for your USB flash drive if you use a pre-Windows XP operating system.

ME and 2000 do not need specific drivers UNLESS this is a USB 2 only "fancy" pen drive. I have seen some that require XP to run, per their label!  :o
