Dial Up Connectin Box
« on: October 18, 2006, 08:28:15 AM »
Suddenly every few seconds the internet explorer dial up connection box keeps popping up on my screen.  Iclick the X or I click cancel and it continues to pop up every few seconds.  What can I do to make it stop popping up?

Download, install, update and run in safe mode the following programs:

AVG Free
Adaware SE
Spybot S&D
Windows Defender (Genuine Windows XP only)

What is the dial-up adress and what have Adaware and Spybot S&D found so far?

Did they remove what they find and have you scanned in safe mode?

    Try this:

    Open Internet Explorer
    Click Tools
    Click Options
    Click the connection tab
Make sure the Dot is beside Never Dial a Connection

Some mail programs also need to have settings changed
    Outlook Express
    Open Outlook Express
    Click Tools
    Click Accounts
    Click the Mail tab
    Select your account
    Click Properties
    Click the Connection Tab
Take the Check Mark out of Always connect using this account

    Outlook
    Open Microsoft Outlook
    Click Tools
    Click

If you continue to have problems

    Open Internet Explorer
    Click Tools
    Click Internet Options
    Click the Connection tab
    Select Each of the connections
    Click remove
    Click yes to confirm delete

Do not allow it to dial, your next telephone bill may be too big to jump over.
