    Need Driver for a CRW Drive by ASUS

    Okay I have a CRW drive model 4824AH made by ASUS. I need a driver for it..mine is corrupted. I tried to uninstall it and reboot but it didn't work. I can't find the driver anywhere not even on ASUS.com. Should I just give up and buy a new CRW drive??

    CD Drivers are built into Windows. Did you delete it in Device Manager? If so, a simple reboot should solve it. You were not clear on how you uninstalled it, or why. What preceeded all of this?

    If the drive is defective that is another story.

    Have you tried system restore to an earlier time?


    Asus only shows a CRW-4824A.

    What is your manufacturer and model number of the computer?

      I uninstalled it through device manager because the driver's were defective and when I troubleshooted it through my Compaq help it recommended to uninstall and reboot.

      The problem is when I rebooted it still couldn't load the drivers... I got a message that my drivers were defective.

      Yes but, that driver is hard to find.Have you been to the below website?
      Let it do an Auto detect.
