Anyone know where I can hold a free website?
    « on: December 26, 2006, 10:50:05 AM »
I want a business website for a product I'm selling

But I'm a little broke and my parents dont give me an allowance

Does anyone know any services that let oyu have a website for free, while giving you full control of like, everything from he gfx to the pretty much everything?

I've heard of google pages, but you need a cell phone to set up your account, which I do not have. If you have a google pages site tell me how it is as well.

Yep same place i have hosting from, the guy who host thes site is a really great guy. Heres the link http://www.hkhp.us/index.php , the only thing is u have to be alittle active on his site forums. Make about 15-20 befor putting in your request, and then just make 1-2 post a week or so. You have full control over the site, and cpanel. U can pick raven nuke or another php nuke if u wont.

Thats the best free host i know of, and i had a few lol.

    My favorite website hoster is:
    www.mbhosting.com

You cant have any SPAM or illegal stuff on your site, and no pornography. You must also have Google ads on every page, which isnt too hard. It does have cPanel, and full control. After that, I would reccomend going to www.co.nr and getting a redirect, but dont mask the address, just have it redirect you to the .mbhosting.com site

Free web hosts are not suitable for commercial websites.  Period.

Correct.  Dynamic IP service, not free web host.

    Try http://www.deluxnetwork.com

There are no ads, and it has a short subdomain.

i have my free site setup on awardspace.com whitch has no adds and supports mysql and php, if your planning on uploading big files like downloads try putting them on 9999mb.com they offer 10gb storage but i would only put downloads on as they put adds onb html, php pages etc.

Free hosting is exactly what it's called...you get what you pay for.

You can also host your own website from your computer by using Apache, Xerver, or some other server software. Then you could go to http://www.dyndns.com/ to obtain a dynamic or static IP so you don't have to type in the IP address every time. ;D

True, but again, unlikely to be suitable for a commercial website, unless you know for a fact it won't have much traffic, or you're on SDSL (or something like that) rather than ADSL.

Good point, but I wasn't relating to a commercial website at all as he was asking, "Anyone know where I can hold a free website?". Just showing Nguyen another way to host a free website. You are right though you will not have very much traffic, as I don't.

And I seem to get ahead of myself, so he does want a commercial website.
