I donot think that booting without a videocard will get you very far..

Are you using both on-board and expansion videocards?

Issues with adding new video card to computer that has on-board video

Did the monitor work before?

it all worked before, all i did was switch out the hardware, MB, harddrives cdrom, floppy, etc... into the new tower, thats all i did, i tried the onboard video without my Readeon video card, and i tried it With the videocard, all my monitor does when i boot is blink (the light) it wont switch on... it's wierd

Try resetting your BIOS by either taking out the CMOS batterey for 10 seconds or shortcircuiting the CMOS jumpers.

try another monitor if you have one or borrow from from a mate...the monitor maybe faulty...to check this out disconnect  the cable from the monitor to the pc...<serial.>does the monitor display signal not found.?..if it does the fault is the vid/mobo

my flat panel only has 1 serialport on 1 end, it doesnt pluginto the monitor as well. just to the PC. and when i unplug it from the PC it says on the monitor cable unplugged, when i plug it in it goes away, ive taken my monitor and tried it on this pc and it works fine.

so now the problem lies with the graphics card...try using it in another port...do you have the the floppy disk for the lcd monitor...drivers disk...and just curious has to what operating system is being used...or going to be used..

It's not a PCI slot, its another one ( i forgot the name of it) its brown, with a latch on the right hand side to lock it in. only got 1. and i do have the driver disk for it. no point if the monitor wont switch on though. and i am running windows 2k pro sp4
