Hard Drive Installation

I've tried to install a new hard drive and device manager says that it is working and installed propperly but there is no icon for it in My Computer.

How do i go from here to using it?

Have you activated it?

Right click on My Computer -> Disk Management.

That's valid for Windows XP, donot know about other OS.

Casimir Creer...Is this Hd a replacement for an existing drive or is it a second drive on the machine?
Has it been formatted ? What operating system are you using ?
