Desktop Screenshots (woohoo!)
« on: April 19, 2007, 12:26:21 PM »
I don't know if there has already been a thread like this (forgive me if there has), but I figured I would start a new one.
I'll start by showing mine:

This topic has been done before.  See http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,4305.0.html.  I'm not trying to discourage a new one; just letting you know of the previous one.

Nope, I dont unfortunately. I got it from a website that specialises in FREE High Definition backgrounds.

I will try and find the name when I get home, or at least the site. I really like it as well.

(Its funny, me and my 5438 emails cant remember where it came from)

Thanks, that site has a very nice selection of wallpaper.  I'm going to try that one for awhile, although I like the one I've been using, which is a photo I took with my digital camera.  It's at:

    http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y256/farmpond/forums/Desktopb12Apr07.jpg

Making a change now and then is fun.  I like using different wallpapers during different seasons.

I have 45 icons on my desktop, spaced out like the ring of fire in the pacific ocean  :P

My screen size is 1024 by 768 pixels so it's fine - slightly smaller icons

I used to have even more.
I need to clean up my desktop, but whenever I try there are too many things that I don't want to move because I use them so often.
1280x800 screen, so it's fine for me.
(Slightly) organized chaos, just like in real life.

Just thought I start this up again. Because I'm just bored.

My desktop was COMPLETELY full until I moved all batch files to the Batch folder (see the holes in the desktop).

See the weird thing is only the owner of the computer knows their desktop. If someone tells you to start MSN, you know exactly where it is but if someone else wants to use msn, they have to take 2 minutes to find it.

Hey Dark Blade, where did you get that thing that says 'bed time in ----"?

D.B. - Clean your desktop up man!
Mine is cluttered (more so than when I posted a screenshot) but nowhere near that abd.
At least get rid of the installation files, they're growing cobwebs.
C.D. - Nice desktop, nicely ordered.

      Sorry, but Zylstra - urgh.
      contrex, is that Vista?
It's a little hard to tell, the taskbar blends into the background.
Too dark for me, but then again I don't have to use it so it doesn't matter what I think.

Xp Pro with modified mssstyles.dll and StyleXP "Black Mint" style. The blacker the better is how I like my desktop. My GF hates it, her user account is set up to use the default XP Classic style that looks like Win2K. We both hate XP Luna.

That's a Widget! Search "Yahoo Widget Engine" in Google.

I think I got that one off one of the Yahoo galleries.

        Can't do that with tabs.

I use multiple FF windows ocasionally - how about if you need to look at an email and a web page at the same time?
        Can't do that with tabs.

I definitely take full advantage of tabs, I'm always begging and pleading with people that don't use tabs to start. The reason I have multiple Firefox windows open is because one window is always a media player window, for listening to online music (opens in a new window and is not full screen, could be tabbed but like having it available when I want to skip to next soung). The other two windows each had 7+ tabs open in each of them. One is usually a work window or in progress window and the other is general browsing and other stuff to do. I usually work with two windows because I don't like having 20+ tabs open, although often still happens even with multiple windows. ;)

Thanks for the information Kip, was just curious. ;)

Nice to see some non Microsoft Windows desktops Johnk, your Ubuntu desktop looks good.

Nice to see a Vista desktop too Zylstra, looks good. I like that wallpaper.

Here is mine. The reason for the desktop clutter is that I download lots of programs from Giveawayoftheday. I actually really never use most of them.

Also, so I won't have to answer this later, the little box in bottom right-hand-corner of the desktop is a cool little program called Rubber Ducky.
