what would be a good sound card to get if i want real high quality sound, and like super layering. i don't remember the word for the "layering" but i remember there's only a certain amount it can handle, like 64 or something.

Would it be "voices" by any chance?
I highly recommend Creative's Audigy series, but I have also heard good things about M-Audio sound cards.
