Keyboard for only $1564(US)

I was almost tempted to buy the Optimus keyboard even when I heard it was going to be a around $200. However, now that the official price of $1564 has been announced I'll have to pass.

No it's used for typing. It's an OLED keyboard so each of the keys have dozens of OLED's and the user can customize each of the keys to have their own symbols / pictures. So if you were a gamer you could setup a custom keyboard with unique pictures on each of the keys for each game you play.

I think with enough supplies, i could carve the letters out of my keyboard, but a small piece of plastic under them and place an LED under the key to make it light up

This is completely different then a simple LED back lit. There are dozens of OLED's for every button. Every button has dozens of different lights that can emit a different color, creating a picture for every key.

It would be cool to have a all the keys be your monitor like in your other post where all the computer monitors are linked together to form one big one.

If you want a cheap nice simple backlit LED keyboard I recommend Saitek Eclipse keyboards. Nice keyboards. I'm using on my main two computers primarily because I thought since the letters were clear and not part of the key they wouldn't rub off. However, unfortunately after a lot of use the paint around the clear letters rub off.

If anyone knows of a keyboard that doesn't have characters that rub me off that is not $1564 like the Optimus keyboard let me know. I seem to go through keyboards keys fast. Always seems to be the N and M keys too. Which is strange.

I'd really love to have this thing, but I just can't buy a keyboard that costs as much as my computer.  There's no way it's worth that much.
