Google error
« on: May 22, 2007, 08:11:44 AM »
Anyone else get errors similar to the below message from Google recently?

Quote
    We're sorry...

... but your query looks similar to automated requests from a computer virus or spyware application. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now.

We'll restore your access as quickly as possible, so try again soon. In the meantime, if you suspect that your computer or network has been infected, you might want to run a virus checker or spyware remover to make sure that your systems are free of viruses and other spurious software.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope we'll see you again on Google.

I can duplicate the error by visiting any high number of results page. For example this link. I wonder if Google sees you visiting multiple pages that have dozens of results it automatically assumes you're a bot.

One of the new google implementations is filtering out questionable/bad sites that are known to contain malware/phishing schemes etc.

I'll see if i can dig out the article for you.

Looks like all the kinks aren't worked out yet...

Probably like Patio said, just an issue with the new system. Doesn't seem like that good of protection if they're just blocking deep links.
