Very SLow loading Games but fast when playing it

Hi I have a Dell inspiron 1150 with 256 Ram and intel extreme Graphic card. Ok i know its not a very fast stuff there but when I play games like Warrock, and Urbanterror. It takes for ever to load the game. LIke when i go to menu then play game then it takes very long. For example it took 21 minutes  to load. It definitely shouldnt be that long. Also i tryed Ubuntu and the knubuntu i think it is called that is for slow computer it goes very slow. I dont know if thats the same problem though. Please help. just ask me what i more i need to say thanks

ALso i want to add is that when loading the game the computer processing light hardly blinks neither on ubuntu. I dont think the pc is using all of the power.!

Post alot more info on the machine including OS, what CPU and any other relevant data such as age of the machine etc.

Off the top though i would suggest adding more RAM...256 or even 512M

Ya my Pc is 2 years old. My brother has exactly the same computer except he has 512 memory and it takes him to load the same game 45 seconds. ANd mine takes 21 mins. There shouldnt be that big of a difference. Ya so i have zone alarm and avira anti virus. i  disabled both and that didnt help.

ok did you run your antivirus to see what it finds??

also get spybot adaware se personal, avg antispyware, ccleaner

update them run them in safe mode one at a time.. remove what they find, then reboot into normal mode

report how your computer is doing. then

get hijackthis and post a log for us to look at.. itll take 2 or more post to post the whole thing

no it hasnt been like this. Although it has been about a year this slow.i have ran adware se.avg antispyware isnt free right? is spyware terminator ok? and i have done ccleaner. I guess i never did it in safemode. i shall do it and give you a hijackthis log.

AVG Anti-Spyware Free is free.  Yes, a HijackThis log would probably be a good idea.

spy terminator didnt find anything
adaware found some cookies
spybot found something interester, a trojan the file was called 14-11-17.exe but the trojan name i will have to find again. if you need it
AAvgspyware found some minor stuff and also downloader.obfuscated.as and that was a high alert the file name was IFFND.exe

I see that you have HijackThis running from your desktop.  You have it in a permanent location, which is good because it makes important backups that you may end up needing.  However, to help you avoid clutter and to help ensure that the backups stay safe, I would like you to move it to a special location.

• Double-click on My Computer to open it and navigate to C:\Program Files.
  
• Right-click on the empty (white) space and go to New > Folder.
  
• Name the folder something like HJT and move HijackThis into that new folder.
  
• If you would still like to run HijackThis from the desktop for convenience, right-click on HijackThis and click on Create Shortcut.  This will create a shortcut to the program; move the shortcut to the desktop.

 
Please do a system-wide search on your computer for wmplayer.exe.  You may need to enable hidden files and folders.  Also, before you start the search, click on Advanced Search Options and then More advanced options, and make sure Search hidden files and folders is checked.  Let us know the results of your search.

I noticed that you have a lot of ActiveX controls for Internet Explorer.  I'm not sure how much these could slow down your computer, but I'm sure they're not helping.  We may want to look into this further.

Open up HijackThis and close all other windows/browsers.  Check the following entries...

Go ahead and click on Fix Checked, then post back with the requested information and a brand new HijackThis log.

Also...you should definitely ditch ditch Spyware Terminator.  It's really not worth having.  You're much better off with AntiVir...or better yet, AVG.

well i will do that but before i ditch spyware terminator i want to say avg spyware isnt free so then that would mean i wouldnt have any spyware programs in 30 days. tell me what i think

I used them at one time to do streaming media and i may want to use proxies latter on is. Will this disable the ability to do it again later? probably not right?

Actually, AVG is free.  When the trial runs out, the program is still fully functional.  It merely disables two features: active scanning and automatic updates.  It's a good idea to have the active scanner, but if you use a firewall (which you do) and perform regular scans, it shouldn't be an issue.

As for that proxy...you don't have to remove.  These can sometimes be set without a user's knowledge, but because you set it yourself, it's not a concern.  If you did remove it, it wouldn't prevent you from setting another.

ok thanks sound good i did really like avg spyware. Although i didnt like the virus one which i had before avira.
i will do the hijackthis now and report back.
