if you go to vista, you might as well throw away all your purchased software programs and some of your old hardware, such as web-cams and stuff cause none of it will work with vista. vista dont play well with others. heck, sometimes it dont play well with itself

a5490 only mentioned some things I don't like/hate about Vista.
I don't plan on getting it either.

One of the things I dont like about it is it's graphics, like the taskbar and start menu.

This is an innaccurate observation at best.

Most driver issues with Vista are for new hardware...

As far as Programs the program developers are supposed to keep up not the other way around.

I love windows Vista... at least the concept of it lol. 

It needs more mature drivers and it needs to stop blue screening on anything i put it on.  It is starting to get old that on my home computer if i quit WoW with ventrilo running my computer blue screens.  I figured out it is a sound driver causing the problem but I have tried all of the different sound drivers out there.  The work around close vent first then WoW It can't get enough memory either it's crazy that a system doing nothing uses 1.5 gigs of ram on a 3 gig system at idle.  The UA crap is useless all of the extra popups in the lower right i could do without.  I need an OS not an OS with training wheels that i can't take off.  I got the UA taken care of and some of the popups also but oh well I am going to format it again pretty soon.  Dreamscene great concept i realize its beta but it should still be in the lab if I run it for any length of time i get blue screens. 

All in all it's not bad just some annoyances that i am working through yet.

I have Vista, I love it
I never have problems with it (<< Tis a flat out lie... but still!)

I have only had one driver issue, and it was caused by the ignorance of Sigmatel and Dell. (dumba$$es)

As for incompatibility:
Do you know how much software became incompatible with Windows at the release of XP?

Everyone was saying the same thing about XP as they are saying about Vista.
Face it, the next pieces of software released are going to require Vista whether you like it or not.

I used to dislike XP very much. Eventually, we got a PC with XP, and I got used to it, and decided it was better than ME/98SE.

Yes, there are bugs, but if I recall correctly, EVERY OPERATING SYSTEM HAS BUGS! And they are all in equivalent.

Wrong.  It'll most likely be at least a few years yet before new software requires Vista.  Until, we'll see a lot of software that will support both XP and Vista.

I know that a lot of people will stay stubborn about it, and there isnt anything I can do but feed their fire until they give out...
That only results in a few days of my life being wasted

i'm sick of people complaining to me about how crap vista is and they don't want to get it and all the other ranty ravey crap. it's annoying. if someone doesn't want vista, that's ok. you don't have to get it. but don't tell the rest of the world >.<
it's like going to a supermarket, staring at the asparagus for a while, then realising you don't like it and going around the shop telling everybody that you're not going to buy it, and how incompatible that asparagus is with your old hardware.
