Hope someone can make sense of what i am about to explain,here goes,my daughters computer has 2 warning symbols down by the start menu,one says computer is infected,the other says spyware,when i click on either it opens up web sites that says download for free to clear these problems,but has soon as i do my norton antivirus blocks them.
  So thats the 1st problem,the 2nd one is i cannot get the control panel up through the start menu,all it keeps saying is your access has been denied,contact systems administrator,pleas pleas can some one help ::)

    You probably have been infected with rogueware, potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) thay nag you into buying the full version by displaying
    false positives.
    If you supply more details them someone will show you how to remove it.
    Winantivirus and Winantispyware would be the main offenders at the moment.
    Your own Antivirus will not pick them up as they are not technically viruses, just pests in the grey area between legit programs and the dark side.
    Google---> RogueRemover for a quick fix. :)

      You may also want to post a HijackThis log. Google to find a download.

      Download HijackThis HERE.  Save it to its own folder and scan with it.  Post the log here, which may take several posts.

      thanks for the info,managed to get rid of the warning icons,the only problem now is that i cannot get control panel through start,it just keeps saying access denied contact system administrator,i have tried to reset to an earlier date but with no joy.

      Download ComboFix and save it to your desktop.  Run the program and read its disclaimer (it's fairly short) and make sure you really pay attention to what it says.  Follow the prompts and when finished, it will produce a log at C:\ComboFix.txt.  Go ahead and post that here.  Note: Don't click on the window while it's running; this may cause stalls.

      Afterwards, you should follow my previous instructions...
      Download HijackThis HERE.  Save it to its own folder and scan with it.  Post the log here, which may take several posts.
