Can`t save in GIF format

Whenever I want to save a picture, I`ll right click, click "Save Picture As", then when I scroll down the save it in a GIF format, I can only save in BMP format. This has been going on for quite some time and is particularly inconvenient when I want to save an image with animation. Why does this happen and how can I fix it??? Please reply.

Thanks for the link!! I deletd the files in my Temporary Internet Files, so it works now.
