    Cant find a FREE non-GUI desktop enviornment program for xp...

    ive searched and searched and all i found was bumptop (still in private alpha testing) and real desktop, but its not free... plz help!!!

      Ummm both BumpTop and Real Desktop are Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs), so I don't think you're looking for a non-GUI Desktop. (Can't imagine how that would work anyway.)
      Have you tried the free, light version of Real Desktop?

        my bad i learned the difference a day or so ago--- i want a not-so-flat-and-boring gui like bumptop, etc.

        yes i have tried it it just freezes my screen, which sucks

        and i am dual booting linux so linux apps are welcome too... but couldnt find any in the "add applications"window...

        If you are running Linux travel to sourceforge....they have tons of stuff....
