    odd........try opening the cd drive ...close it up and hit enter again ....see if it will do anything

    do you think that if i was to put the hard drive in a different computer to try and back up my files it would put the other computer at risk? or work at all?

      if you have a win 98 boot disk......change the bios to boot from floppy and then with the cd still in the drive let it boot and when you get A: prompt ......see if you can change to D if that the cd drive .....if you get the D prompt .....type dir and see if the cd is read

        if you installl your drive in another as a slave ......you may be able to get at your files ...and it won't hurt the other pc

            *censored* ...this win xp pro ......have a look in the I386 dir
            I think xp pro loads differant than xp

                Here's the info on a clean install .........choose the graghics version ......Im sure theres something in there about I386 .....but have a read .......I'm going to hit the hay .....
