ACCESS DENIED TO FLOPPY, DVD AND USB DRIVES
    « on: March 06, 2008, 01:36:56 AM »
When I try to access either my floppy, DVD or F drive I get a message "Access is
    denied".

There is also a message on the taskbar."Administrator has prohibited access to DVD
drive " (or whatever drive I try to access).

I am the administrator, I have not changed the settings. I have tried going back
to a reset point to no avail.

Any suggestions will be warmly welcome. How has this happened? how can I alter the
    access to the drives?

    I use Windows XP professional.

Have you tried creating another user account with administrative rights?
Why is this thus?  What is the reason for this thusness?

Many thanks for your interest. I will try out your suggestion when I get home tonight (uk time).

Could you tell me if it is possible for a administrator to alter permissions to use the floppy, dvd and usb drive. If so how do you do this?.
