    ntdlr is missing
    « on: March 12, 2008, 05:31:26 PM »
hello. ive been trying to fix my cousin's pc for quite a while now, and have done many things but have no solutions. i tried copying the ntldr file from the xp installation cd through recovery console and it didn't work. so i checked his partitions, and i have concluded that the wrong partition is set as active. problem is, i dont know how to change the one with the OS on it to active. i googled but found only very brief, undetailed things.

    specs:
    windows xp home
    intel p4 2.6 ghz
    about 1.5 gb ram
on sp1 for now, i had to take sp2 off to install recovery console

I had the same problem recently. I used fixboot and fixmbr from memory.
You could also do a search here to find some more info.
