can someone please help me...i'm confused

a friend came over to get my computer working again...it is, but my start menu is now very small and my displays(for instance), mail page are so big they don't fit on the screen.....i don't know how to fix this...i'm not very computer literate.......thank you

What is your resolution set to? Right-click on the desktop, hit properties, click on the settings tab... Now, what is your resolution set to? Also, what problem(s) were you having earlier that made your friend come over to fix it?

please be patient with me...i'm a computer idiot.....screen area says 640x480 pixels......the original problem was that i had accidentally deleted a system file and couldn't get on at all....

Ok... That resolution IS on the big side, but might be ok to use... Now, do you know how big your monitor is? (17 inches, etc.)
