1. You should be able to install as many browsers as you want. Running multiple browsers at the same time should also work, assuming you have adequate system resources; e.g. physical memory, virtual memory, CPU cycles.
Not sure about the "white" screen, but should be able to eliminate the "Thank you for downloading Google Toolbar" dialog box and see if that helps.
2.
Complete Google Toolbar Installation.
I have now got `Firefox` on `safe mode` as when starting normally, I have a screen which says `Thankyou for downloading Google Toolbar`. I didn`t download anything to do with Google, and didn`t ask for anything! It`s just appeared! I can`t close it, accept it or do anything with it!,
The "Thank you for downloading Google Toolbar" keeps appearing because you never finished the installation of the Google Toolbar. Whether you asked for it or not is not relevent at this point.
o Restart Firefox in "normal" mode.
o When you see that dialog box again, look for a red rectangular border towards the bottom.
o Within that area select either "Enable Page Rank" or "
Disable Page Rank" (I would choose "Disable Page Rank" for privacy reasons).
o The "Finish" button located at bottom right should become active.
o Depress the
Finish button.
I believe it asks to restart Firefox to complete the installation. Choose "yes" or exit Firefox normally and restart it. The Google Toolbar is installed.
3.
Verify Google Toolbar Installation.
After Firefox has successfully restarted in "normal" mode:
o From the main menu at top of Firefox window, left click on "
Tools"
o Within the Tools pulldown menu, left click on "
Add-ons" item, the "Add-ons" windows will appear.
o At top left of this window, left click on "
Extensions" icon, your installed extensions should appear in lower pane.
o There should be a "
Google Toolbar" entry.
4.
Uninstall Google Toolbar. From the Add-on window accessed above:
o
Right click on
Google Toolbar entry, a context menu should appear.
o Left click on the "
Uninstall" entry to uninstall Google Toolbar.
I believe it asks to restart Firefox to complete the uninstall. Choose "yes" or exit Firefox normally and restart it. The Google Toolbar should be gone.
