Why does this happen!! Need help with my computer please and thank you.

I am trying to run linux on one of my olf computers (windows 95) and for some reason when i turn on the power nothing comes up on the screen and the computer its self beeps. I dont know why it is beeping or how to get somthing to come up on the screen. If you can help me please i would be very thankful.

Help cannot be forthcoming until you give us some info on what we're trying to diagnose, pc make/model, what the beep code consists of etc....
