    Browser not working
    « on: May 29, 2008, 08:42:17 PM »

I am using microsoft windows xp. I have a dell dimension 4700.  I use firefox btw. Whenever I click "browse" on a website so that I can choose a file from my pc, nothing pops-up. I think it may have to do with an add on called adblock plus. Please give any advice possible, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

on any site that allows one to upload a file from local computer harddrive, there should be a popup box allowing user to select the file they want upon clicking choose or browse button on the website itself. However, original poster says that firefox won't show the appropriate popup box so he can choose his files.

Go Start>All Programs>Mozilla Firefox, and click on Mozilla Firefox(Safe Mode). See, if "Browse" box will work.

Yes Broni, it works in Safe Mode. Why is this?

in Safe Mode, all of your addons are disabled.

What add-ons do you have installed?

mcxeb52! is right. Some add-on is blocking those pop-ups. I suspect Adblock Plus, so try to disable it first, and see, if it works.
        We'll go from there.
