    computer keeps shutting down
    « on: June 20, 2008, 07:48:52 AM »
i am having a intel dual core processor, mercury motherboard, 1 gb RAM and a widescreen moniter.

The problem is my computer shuts down automatically for no reason.
this happen when using adobe acrobat, or when watching videos on sites like youtube or when playing games like counter strike1.6, whereas GTA works fine and using foxit reader in place of adobe works well.
i don't uinderstand why this is happening, my kaspersky doesn't show any virus. is der a hardware problem??
when i used vista these problem continued but a blue screen appeared showing dumping of physical memory and then it restarted. now i am back to XP.

if that 67 degrees C is the cpu, that's way too hot. Check your heatsink, fan and cooling.

ok i checked all tthe components.put them all under a table fan, again put them back and tthis is the result i got with speed fan
          temp1 50c  fan1 4561rpm
          temp2 64c
          temp3 45c
          hdo 44c
is this heat inside the CPU causing the PC to shutdown or is there any other problem??

Well, as what Dias said, your temp readings are too hot..

          Please read this >> http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000689.htm

And also may we know your specs? >> http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,33586.html

Try to check also if your processor have thermal paste in it. I experience this one with a computer in our company. I applied a new thermal paste to its processor and problems were solved.

          Thanks! ;D
