Windows XP is a 32-bit OS that also supports 16-bit programs.
    Hope this helps.

Are you sure it isnt 32 bit and 64 bit versions? I've never heard of a 16 bit (or real mode) version of XP. XP Pro comes in 32 and 64 bit modes.  OLder applications run in 16 bit mode, and XP is backward compatible with most of these.

Click Start and then right click MY COMPUTER. Now choose PROPERTIES at the bottom. This will tell you what operating system you have.

      That's what I'm telling you.
XP came in 2 different 64 bit flavours, however they were on a different code base.
It was never made in a pure 16 bit flavour.

It will say either "Windows XP Professional" or "Windows XP Professional X64 Edition" on the CD.
It's very obvious which it is, there's no way you could get confused.
There's a very high chance that it's the normal 32 bit version, as the X64 edition is not all that common.

It does not say anything but Windows XP Pro with Serice Pack 2.

It is a store CD so it should say 32 Bit on the CD and it does not.

But since it does not say 32 Bit or 64 Bit then is it a 32 Bit

          Read my post again.
I said it will either say X64 edition, or it will not.
As it doesn't, it is the normal everyday 32 bit version.
This won't be stated on the CD as at that time, it was the only version available, there was no 64 bit edition.
