WE have about nine that all work two of them are laptops.  Two that need fixed or maybe just the one.  I have 5 which the one is in the process of being built.
Windows 7 RC Tester.  Working on it.  Your monitor says etchasketch on the side!

If you count working computers at work, I have about 50 computers and 15 servers. But at home I just have 4-5.
        Oh wait, 4-5 isn't an option.... I'll go with 5-8.... 2 laptops, 2 desktops, 1 server

oh, and I have an old laptop that I'm turning into a digital picture frame, too, if that counts. ;)

Just remember that I have parts enough to build another two.  I would need another case for the one though.

Three desktops and one notebook.  However, one or two of the desktops are probably going to the next local computer recycling drive; that will leave me with my main desktop and my notebook.  The oldest desktop was purchased way back in 1995 and has Windows 98SE (originally Win 95) on it. The next oldest is one I received from someone who wanted to get rid of it; it has an 800MHz processor and 128MB of RAM, with Win ME.  I may keep that one for awhile; I've thought of adding some memory to it and installing Linux Ubuntu on it.

I will now detail all the specs I can from memory on all my working machines :)

Main PC, just replaced my K6-2, feels really fast:

                Dell Dimension 4400
                Pentium 4 1.6 Ghz
                Windows XP SP3 500GB HD (partitioned 250GB C: and 250GB D:
                Nvidia Geforce FX 5500OC
                Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer
                IOGear USB 2.0 card
                D-Link XTreme-N Wireless Card

Older PC, my brothers using it now, at least until he gets a mac (???)(oh well, at least I tried to get him into computers.

                MVP3G-M Motherboard
                AMD K6-2 350Mhz
                80GB HD
Windows XP SP2 (I doubt he updated, so it's probably still SP2)
He's also installed all sorts of viruses and malware! I've cleaned it twice for him now, but apparently he enjoys the less wholesome entertainment on the internet (or he did, until I denied it's Mac address access to the net (lol), same with his PS3 and PSP, all denied.
ATI Radeon 9250 PCI (oh well)
                Create SB Live!

Also some crappy Cyrix computer- not particularly worth mention at all.

                and my two laptops too!

                Toshiba Satellite 440CDX

                133mhz Pentium MMX
                Windows 98SE
                144MB of RAM
                2GB HD

                IBM thinkpad 755CDV
                75 Mhz Pentium (non MMX)
                PC-DOS 2000 and Windows 3.1
                8MB of RAM

Strangely enough, the thinkpad gets used the second most by me, aside from my main 1.6Ghz- why? Sometimes I feel like playing the original Doom executable, maybe to just run the speedruns on COMPET-N.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.

one desktop dual boot - is that 2 or 4? :D
If dual boots would count as more than one I have too many to count :P
However the thread is about computers, so I would say it's just one computer no matter how many OSes it has.

hopefully i'll get a laptop  ;D and a bunch of networking cable. trying to home network here but running out of cable  :P

So far my main pc has the following specs
                  Optiplex GX150
                  P3 @ 1GHz
                  256MB DDR 1 RAM
                  20GB HD
                  Win 2k
(perfect for my robotic creations, muwhahahaha  8), Lego Mindstorms)

Once i get some more mula i'll try to Upgrade my optiplex with 256MB more RAM, an external HD about 40 - 60GB (i dont need that much mem) , a P4 @ 1.4GHz, a new PCI Graphics card perhaps around 128MB of VRAM with VGA port. then i'll have a good programming and gamin machine. ;D
If you dont know DOS, you dont know Windows...

Don't bother with a P4 at that speed - you'd need a new board for a start, and the earlier versions are pretty slow too.  If you see a faster P3 though, especially the S versions with the extra L2 cache, and your board supports it, grab it, they're good.
Win2K will fly with 512MB RAM though, trust me.
                  Enjoy.

i know about the ram, i said im adding another 256MB of ram. but i guess i'll skip on the cpu and just go with the graphics card and the ram.

actually theres since in that. all the version of windows, up to the Win NT family of OS's were based upon DOS. Windows NT, 2K, XP ,and Vista arent based on dos which makes it self-realiant. Win ME was the last OS to be based upon DOS(16-bit)

no The NT(including NT x.x, 2000, XP, Vista) family of OS's where the first to be self-reliant without the need for DOS.

If you dont know DOS, you dont know Windows....

Thats why Bill Gates created the Windows NT Family.

                                  (i changed it)

If you knew about DOS then all the Windows version up to Win ME were second nature since all the were were fancy GUI's that made DOS easier to use without even having to type stuff on the command prompt. Once Windows NT came out, it was a whole new world since the NT family was 32bit compared with the 16/32bit hybrid of the old Windows versions.

                                  (This is all from wikipedia.)
...It was intended to complement consumer versions of Windows that were based on MS-DOS. NT was the first fully 32-bit version of Windows, whereas its consumer-oriented counterparts, Windows 3.1x and Windows 9x, were 16-bit/32-bit hybrids. Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows Home Server, and Windows Server 2008 are based upon the Windows NT system, although they are not branded as Windows NT...

                                  see it here.

Thats interesting, so in theory I dont need to have an understanding of dos too much to fix these.  Working on one pc that was working.
