new/old comp setup
« on: July 05, 2008, 07:21:24 PM »
I got a new to me computer, that had all previous information erased.  Now I am trying to start up the computer but all that comes up is the dell screen with the push f2 to start f12 to reboot.  I was told that windows was still on the computer, So how do I get to the desktop?  Is there a magic button I push?

What happens when you press f2 or f12?

Can you give us a little more information about your computer please?

What information should I add when submitting a question?

if (all previous info erased) i am guessing he use 3rd party software to write over a hdd partition multiple times which could very easily been the same partition windows was on.
    i run 7 different screens with 7 different towers(SYNERGY)
    1. always test the ram
    2. switch graphics cards
    3. run your virus scans
    4. mix and match parts
    5. just because it was thrown out doesn't mean it's all bad
    somethings broken/They think it's slow(Reinstall windows)
