winoldap

Please help! my IT team have as yet been unable to!

Each time I boot up my laptop, my system tries to run something called winoldap. It does this over and over again until I get a message that says "SMBIOS DOS DRIVER - There are not enough resources available to run this program"

I get round this at the moment by entering the task manager and spending 10 minutes "ending tasks".

What is it that is causing this program ro continually try and run and how do I stop it?

I am running Windows 98 on an IBM business laptop.

Well.... It sounds like a virus to me... Did you have antivirus protection?

Start Windows Explorer and navigate to the c:\windows\system directory. Find WINOA386.exe and rename it to something else. (IE: WINOA386.old). Restart your computer and the problem should be solved.

Good luck.  8)
