« on: February 22, 2005, 05:52:51 PM »
 :'( Please help!!

Recently installed a new motherboard into my Compaq computer and now every single game i try to play, it will go for a couple of minutes and then freeze, locks the computer completely up and i have to then shut down.

Any ideas? been dealing with this for a while now.

Thanks

Is your computer compatible with the new motherboard? It sounds to me like an overheating issue... Check out your power supply.... Also check to make sure that your video card supports that motherboard....

I agree with Flame, something is over-heating on your motherboard. That, of course, if you talk about 3D games and not about Solitaire & Co. :)

Yep, I agree, I had the very same problem and it was because my CPU fan was jammed with dust so after a while, the CPU overheated and everything jammed. Try looking if all the fans are rotating properly when you start your computer.

it's a calculator to know how much power you should need

By the way, does it only happens in games? try that
