    Difference between PC400 and PC3200 DDR Memory?

    Masters, I'm new here and I would like to know about the difference between a PC400 and a PC3200 DDR Memory. Thanks a lot. Appreciate your response on this.

      Same.

      EDIT: I read your post too quickly. As far as I know, there is no PC400 memory. But, PC3200 = DDR400.

        then why do these companies put 3200 in the memory if they are the same with the ddr400?

          I mean the difference between DDR400 and the DDR 3200? Because I encountered a system error when I used a 512 DDR400 memory because the previous memory used was DDR3200. Is there difference in the frequency between the two?

            I understand your confusion and, believe me, I think the people who came up with this confusing nonsense ought to be shot! Phew! :)

            Many older motherboards had trouble running EDIT: memory at their fastest advertised speed and many could only do so under special conditions.

            Post your motherboard details and exactly what you are trying to accomplish, and we'll see if we can help!
