Hard drive problem
« on: July 25, 2008, 01:29:23 AM »
I have an existing 160 GB SATA hard drive, where my operating system and softwares were installed. But when i added 500 GB HDD SATA, that new 500 GB HDD sometimes is not detected.

Yes, I already checked the sata connection and power supply, and I think it's ok. That HDD has no partition and I use it only for my music and movie files.

It has to have a partition if you're storing anything on it.  When it does show up, does it have readable files on it?

      It's a SATA drive...

It may need formatting before Windows will recognise it...use the utility CD that shipped with the CD to do this.
