BLACK LAPTOP SCREEN
« on: September 17, 2008, 07:54:05 AM »
I have been using a TOSHIBA laptop ( TECRA A9-S9015X) with win XP for about 3 months- it so happened that the screen went black. I tried to power off and on again forgetting that I had put cd with a ghost image of another computer in cd rom that I was viewing earlier on.However, I managed to remove the cd from the rom  and tried to reboot , but no change.I have observed that the LEDs for connection to power socket (with a plug symbol) and battery come on and stay on but the ones for  power (a circle with a small line) and hard disk come on momentarily after reboot and go off. I tried to boot with win xp cd but nothing. How would one go about sorting out this problem?
