microphone help
« on: March 16, 2005, 11:27:24 AM »
I use my microphone to do simple music recording (with a program called
audacity.)  I have also in the past plugged my electric guitar and keyboard
directly into my mic hookup.  I know that this may not be ideal, but it has
never caused me a problem in the past.  Suddenly, my microphone would not work
AT ALL when plugged in.  It is completely non responsive.  Same thing when I
plug my guitar in.  However, When i plug my keyboard in i hear it faintly (which
gives me a glimmer of hope lol), but it is not being recognized or recorded in
sound recorder or Audacity.  I have tried every simple method possible
(mulitmedia settings, sound volume, recording volume) and i just don't
understand what the problem is.  At first I thought that maybe I did something
wrong and messed something up, but the fact that i can hear the keyboard coming
through my speakers when it's hooked up to my mic input gives me reason to
believe that I can resolve this issue.  If you could give me some advice I would
much appreciate it. thank you very much.

Mate, don't double post. Makes you look like a fool.

I replied in Computer Software - best continue the thread there.
