You may move your copy of XP between computers, but Microsoft will allow only one iteration of the operating system to run at a time (beyond the thirty day limit).

You might consider a Linux distribution for the second system.

Well, you could ask Microsoft.  ;) Install your XP on a second computer, it will tell you it can not activate the product. Next you call Microsoft and explain to them why you think you should have it on two computers. If you have a good reason they will give you permission. If not, you might hear someone knocking at the door before you hang up the phone!  :o

No matter what explanation you give them they are not going to say yes to 2 machines 1 OS...

Maybe you could put XP on a removable Flash IDE chip and mount it in the floppy slot. That way you can have two machines and one installed OS.  ::)

    My interpretation:

'Flash IDE Chip' - indicating something that holds data and plugs into the computer via IDE, like a hard drive.
'mount in the floppy slot' - perhaps meaning unplugging the floppy drive and replacing it with the hard drive

    Anyways, probably wouldn't work.
