Standby/Hibernation no longer work
« on: January 02, 2009, 04:23:02 AM »
I have windows xp home, and I like to set my computer to enable hibernation and the power options to standby after 15mins, hibernate after 30mins, recently (in last couple of days) I noticed it wasn't doing this so I checked the power options and I am no longer given an option to set when computer will standby/hibernate nor even a tab to enable them - even though I have being doing it previously - when I hit the shutdown tab on my computer the standby option is now greyed out - any ideas why this would happen?
Thankyou

Windows has pretty useless Power Management features, especially with Hibernation.

Try running System Restore to a few days before the problem started.

If it's not a laptop, don't use those options.
