add remove programs in control panel not responding..

hi..
when i go to control panel and i go to add remove programs nothing ever happens, my pc already running slow and lotsa bugs so i figured that i could start with uninstalling some of the useless things, and yeah it never works.

oh and when i start the computer i get a buncha .dll missing files popup..

and something completely unrelated is when im using any internet browser my start bar at the bottom completely disappears unless i hit the windows button on the keyboard

id really appreciate any sort of help or input, thanks!

thanks alot, the hijack thing got rid of alot of the bugs i had, but i still cant seem to get into add remove programs in the control panel, which really bugs me, and not seeing the start bar on the internet explorer...

The log is clean, however is very short. Is it new install?

no not at all actually, it's my wife's old dell computer that's been sitting in the closet forever, avg virus scan comes up clean too.

it has a legit windows xp operating system with the serial # on a sticker on the side and all but i cant seem to find the windows xp cd to reinstall and reformat and i dont think i could actually do it, i think itd be hard to get the internet going and all and i have no drivers for anything on this pc, and its pretty slow too having only 256ram i think..

the biggest bummer of all is i cant access the add/remove programs function in the control panel, i double click get the hourclock for a split second and then nothing..and i get no sound on the internet either, it'll work on windows media player but online streaming videos get no sound.

Without Windows CD, there is not much we can do here. You can try to borrow one to run some repairs.
