    MS-excle file unable to attach

    i am unable to attah Ms-excle 2003 file to any mail (gmail or yahoo or hotmail...)  .... i have Symantec EndPoint protection in system..... could any one plz tell me why its happening...

    Can you attach any file to an email message?  Do you use only web-based email?

      yes soybean, i can able to  attach any files other than .xls ....

      Environment:

        OS:WindowsXP Professional SP3
        Office tools: MS-Office 2003 ( now i tried with OpenOffice but same problem)

      I'm not familiar with Symantec EndPoint protection but I wonder whether it may be the cause of the problem here.  Can access a settings screen and look for some setting that would cause this?  Or, if Symantec EndPoint protection does not include your firewall (don't get online without firewall protection), disable Symantec EndPoint protection temporarily and see whether that allows you to send .xls files.
