    USB problems
    « on: February 04, 2009, 02:22:13 AM »
    Hy men,

Well, I'm very sorry but I must bother you again with a very weird issue. So, I have two sticks: one is Kingston and another is noname. The noname is working with all my USB ports and Kingston is not working with any of my USB ports( but is working well on any other computers). My very problem now is the following: I purchased a wireless connection to Internet (USB modem) and this is not working too; in device manager is write: unknown device. It is working on any other computer >:(.
    What shall I do?
Thanks you in advance for every idea.

          Hy,
Do you have any new ideas?
I disabled anything under Universal serial bus controllers from Device manager and after that I restarted the PC.Unfortunately, the situation is the same, more than that now I can see only two USB root hub in my Device Manager from six.

I'm confused...you're mentioning RAM and USB ports here...obviously one of the RAM sticks is the wrong type/speed or is defective.
Travel to Crucial's website and run the online scanner to see what RAM that machine likes...
Then DLoad and run MemTest to see if you have a faulty stick.

Sorry, but is not about RAM.All it's about pen drives, or flash drives. That is what I named stick( perhaps it is not correct, but in my country most of us call these "memory sticks").
            Thanks.

Instead of disabling the USB roots and hubs you should remove them in Control Panel...
They will be re-installed upon re-boot...
Do these USB drives work on other machines ? ?

Yes, they are working fine on any another computer I have tried.
Yes, I have disabled them from Control Panel and after that I have restarted the PC but nothing new.

              In other words try again...this time un-install them...not dis-able.

                Re-install your MBoard drivers.

OK, it is solved. It was not about any software( OS, drivers and so on) because I have tried anything( including Windows reinstallation and of course all the drivers, including the mainboard drivers).I bought and installed one PCI/USB card( or adapter) and now I have 4 working USB ports( the new ones of course). With the old ones, the problem is still very weird for me.

OK, I'm very sad, but all is a fake!Yesterday, I discovered that my mobo's BIOS is an
"EVALUATION ROM-NOT FOR SALE".I must tell all of you that because, it is clear now, purchasing new hardware is not a solution for a BETA version of BIOS!!!
So, if you have weird problems, don't hurry to the hardware shop to spend money.First, give it a try with some software solution( I've used Everest) which are cheaper.
                    I'm very sad indeed.
