I am getting a loud hum. What gives? Is it the sound card? I am using a mini stereo plug from the sound card to the rca in's on my sony receiver. The music is faint with a loud hum. I would appreciate any help. Thank You

Seems that your getting some feedback in the receiver...depending upon how old the receiver is, the filtering circuitry that filters out echos, feedback, and such may not be that useful as it once was..

    How old is it?
If you dont know DOS, you dont know Windows...

Thats why Bill Gates created the Windows NT Family.

I would plug headphones into the same plug that your using for the audio out on the sound card, if you get the hum in your headphones then it would be your sound card. if not it might be you surround receiver.
