It wouldent help the earth in any way for us to turn our power off here...

There's a reason why we have the cheapest electricity, it comes from the largest concrete structure on earth!

We generate, I think its around 3X more power than we actually use, I always thought it was odd that they didnt just turn off Power House 1 and 3. Were going to be selling all the way down to California some day.

    Did you know?
The Government is unfairly taking money from the Grand Coulee Dam, which has already completely paid itself off? Its the only reason why our electricity bills arent one dollar a month.

For each time a power transformer is hit at the dam (before it gets to the power line transformers), it costs 1 million dollars to replace it? (Those things are massive).

i know what your saying but surely the point is save all the power from what ever source and by what ever means to save energy

ok , let them sell the power to carilfornia and that means they can close their power plant and save oil/gas what ever it runs on

in spain there is a solar plant up and running big enough which would run LA day and night , which means it would be free of oil/gas , with a small charge for maintenance

its great to see pres; obama is moving towards renewable energy

We dont even "slow down" the turbines... we will generate the same amount of power no matter what, but, eh.

The Government doing something unfair and taking money from the Dam, which in turn takes money out of the hands of the people.

Surely not. Thats unthinkable. Not the Government. They've been fair and just for years.

Mighty cool decade for global warming. :)

Anyway why don't California take care of it's own needs?

There is a big ocean out there in front of California and it
      is always moving.

Is the power supply source for charging electric cars going to
come from a source that pollutes? If so what is the advantage?

the news may not have arrived in the states yet but the sea is raising by 3 to 5 cm a

year and in 100 years ( which is only a life time ) california will not be able to do

anything , it will be under water , there are islands already under water and in

20/30 years they will be gone

California being the Land of Fruits and Nuts will by it's very nature never be able to take care of itself nor the people there...
This is a fact and not to be confused with opinion.

Actually, What I SHOULD say about this is not that I don't believe the earth is warming, but rather that we either caused it or can stop it.

After all- temperatures were tropicall almost worldwide in the mesozoic, which is a little bit before the industrial revolution.

of course this is by no means condoning that we should treat the planet as a dumping ground.

i agree  with some of which he says , man will not always be on earth , we will be

killed of some how which could be mans own fault , and something else will come

along to take over ( or not ) , but man will go to another planet somewhere to

       destroy it
