Overworked hard drive

My hard drive (160Gb) is being accessed all the time even though I have 512Mb memory, I am running XP Pro. Can anyone tell me how to eleviate the constant noise from the hard drive ???

Try turning off Indexing service (and any other services that you don't need). Indexing service is a resource hog, disc intensive, and about as useful as *censored* on a boar hog.
