First Robot Scientist Makes Gene Discovery
« on: April 02, 2009, 06:00:48 PM »

He can come up with a hypothesis, plan an experiment, reason about the results, and then plan his next steps.

Now ADAM is the first robot—but maybe not the last—to have independently discovered new scientific information, according to scientists who recently built themselves the mechanical colleague.

Wow, that is incredible.

Imagine how great it would be to have an onboard computer AI in your computer/laptop.

"Computer, can you help me with this math problem?"
"Sure, please turn the webcam towards the question"

LOL

If that happens, we all know Broni will hack into Computeruler's Computer somehow, so when Computeruler asks,

"Can you help me with this problem"

"Sure.. BZZTT. INSERT GIFT CERTIFICATES"

 ;D

but in all seriousness, this is a really big step in both robotics and science in general.

Have computers literally design, not just manufacture, new computers; they could probably improve all sorts of ow silly fiobled Buses with something faster that is still backward compatible. That would be neat... and then use those to do the same.

And then make a blue robot, call him Megaman X, put him in a cap... wait- no no, don't do that.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.
