    Broadcom 5701 driver
    « on: March 30, 2009, 05:20:59 PM »
    Greetings,

I have a Gtwy 7324GZ and cannot get the wireless card to work. My relative, who previously owned it, got it disabled. I have been trying to get it to run, but no use, barely averting disaster by trying to install drivers. The card itself is a Broadcom 5701 Gigabit Ethernet, I believe.

Any thoughts or ideas on how I can correct this would be greatly appreciated.

    DR

There should be a button or switch that turns the wireless card on/off somewhere on the laptop.  Flip the switch and see if it works.

        Hi Alan,

Thanks for responding. The FN/F2 combo did not work prior to trying to install drivers. Installing what I thought to be the driver was...mmm...chaotic, and thus far, I have not been able to find a button or switch otherwise. This really has me flustered. The only  alternative I see (so far) is just to get a USB wireless adapter, but it would be really annoying that this is the only available outcome.

        Thanks again for your reply.
