Does anyone now how I can save html code created in Vista's Notepad?  Also, how can I convert the code or view the conversion with Internet Explorer 8 or Mozilla FireFox?

Just go to File > Save As > type "mypage.htm".

Then go to where ever you saved it to, and double click on it.

In notepad it should not be converting anything, HTML is plain-text so if you were to look at the .htm file it should be the same as if it was a text file.

If you were to type the below line in notepad and save it as ch.htm, it should open with no problems.

Notepad only gives me the option of saving it as a txt file or all files.

You'd just need to type .htm at the end of the file. So if you're calling it "test" you'd save the file and for the name type "test.htm".

I understand where you're coming from.  Previous MS operating systems would function that way but that's no longer possible with beautiful Vista.

?  Choose the "all files" option.  You then add the appropriate filename extension ".htm" - or more correctly, ".html" (.htm is a legacy filename extension that mainly came about because earlier versions of Windows/DOS could only cope with 3 character filename extensions).

I thought that was something everyone knew about, you choose not to save it as a .txt file, so you choose the save it as Any File you make.
