online rewards center
« on: June 02, 2009, 04:53:59 PM »
I dont mean this to be spam or anything but I cant use my computer for the whole summer so I need something else to do like getting a 360 or something.  I saw this site and I googled it and people said they actually got stuff from them.  But what do you think?

Whenever registering, look at the Terms and Conditions and Terms of Service. Also check the privacy policy. Some of these sites do deliver, but it takes too long to rack up points to even make up for it.

I use this one: http://www.mypoints.com/emp/u/index.vm
It takes time, though. I got myself iPod shuffle for free, through them, couple of years ago.
Right now, I'm at 8,300 points there.

Another interesting site, where you can actually earn real money (check the age availability) is: http://www.utest.com/
This one is for computer lovers, so I guess, you qualify ;D

You rack up points by completing offers. If you think the companies are doing this out of the bottom of their hearts? No. They get a referral fee for each person, and if you change the referral, then you don't get the points.

You get a certain amount of points depending on how much the site is getting from the advertising company. You can redeem points for things like giftcards, iPods, gaming systems and much more...although it will take an extremely long time to get even close to enough points for an iPod or gaming system.

If you look through the TOS and TAC and find things that say basically, "If we don't want to pay you, we don't have to." then they almost 100% won't pay you.

Publishers clearing the house? The only time you enter your real address is when they're shipping your reward to you.

I have an a standard in every class but spanish.  I absolutely hate it, suck at it, and was forced to do it.  SOMEHOW I got A- for the whole other part of the year and nowI get a b.  Its a high b too.  This is not fair.  I tried hard and just suck at it.  I am absolutely terrible.  I tried to explain it to them but they were like well to bad I dont care how hard you tried! You got a b so too bad! I haaaate them!

When do they expect you to use spanish? are you planning on going to spain? Heck, Canada is supposed to be bilingual and I purposely failed French several times.

I thought that all Canadians knew some French. Aren't all of the signs in both English and French? I thought that Canada had two official languages. I realize that the majority of French speaking Canadians varies in different provinces, but I was under the impression that both English and French were taught in all of the school's there. Am I wrong? How does it work?

well, it's not equally French and english- French was just another class- basically it was given the same weight as- for example - spanish. Unles of course your parents enroll you in a french immersion school. If so it basically flips french and english. English is a class, but only in the same way french is a class in most other schools. kind of stupid. I can see wanting ot learn a language, but practically abandoning one of the more universal languages in the world due to some sort of French Canadian pride issue seems a bit silly.

Of course since it was taught in elementary school as part of the curriculum it's only natural that we'd pick up one or two things. I wouldn't go so far as to call myself bilingual though.

Basically, they teach French in elementary and then in High school they let us choose a second language class as an elective. I managed to eke my way out of having French 8,  but somehow they got me into french 9 the next year. ::)

Even somebody who secludes themself from trying ot learn french picks some up without trying- because, as you say- all our signs (well, most of our signs) are bilingual. And I believe it's a law that all information on food labels and merchandise must be in both languages as well. I've never really thought about it, but that would seem weird if I wasn't so used to it. Same with most manuals. For example, my recent acquisition of several Nintendo products has an entire half of the manual in french. Not sure if this is Canada specific or wether it's all of north america, though.

All Federal Government signs and services are in English and French. Certain cities are English/French, but only one province is English/French.

I have an a standard in every class but spanish.

Well , there's your out..........How can you be held to a standard if the standard was not established.......The fact that the standard for your Spanish class was never established relieves you of any responsibility with regards to achieving that standard. The onus of establishing the standard for Spanish class remains the responsibility of your parents, who have obviously failed in their parental duties by not providing direction and guidance to you during the school year.

Note: This defense will either get you back your computer privileges or perhaps a slap to the back of the head......it all depends on how you present your case.......I would suggest a humorous approach, rather than "I hate your effen guts". This is how I learned French many years ago....most of which I retain to this day.

My bill is in the mail.

They kept telling me to do my homework and being all annoying.  I did do it though and I did always study a lot for tests including spanish.  I dont think it will work karnac.  Thanks for trying though.  I didnt even want to do spanish.  Last year, we had a little of it and we were recommended to be in it or not.  Well, I wasnt recommended, FOR A REASON!!! but my mom had to be all stupid and call the stupid school and FORCE ME AGAINST MY WILL TO BE IN SPANISH!!!!!!!!!!!  Doesnt my mom realize I wasnt recommended for a reason!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!

It's time to engage your irritation protocols. prove to them how very little you want to be in spanish by literally failing it.

Might seem stupid, and yes, I'm sure you'll have further problems regarding unwarranted discipline, but eventually they'll get the picture.

This might be acase where the parent Doesn't know what's best for the kid because they're too caught up in their own ambitions of what they want them to be (Obviously, they want you to be a mastador) that they forget.

I really like the idea.  To bad I really cant do that.  I agree with that last part.  My moms complaining knowledge is important! It will get you places! Ya spanish will get me places! The only places it will get me are places were I will get swine flu and DIE!!!!!  I can see the more important classes, yes but really, spanish?

I stll can't help but find it a bit backwards, that they'll not allow you to use the PC but you're still able to play video games, which I doubt will get anybody... places.

Regardless, I'm not sure why one would need to get an A in spanish anyway. if you hate the class a B+ is pretty *censored* good. I would probably use it to catch up on some zzz's, just like I used my math class to work on programming with my graphing calculator, which put me in the odd situation of actually knowing how to do the stuff we did with it by hand... like for example quadform.

The only thing spanish, especially in north america, generally is useful for is as a second language for admission to a post secondary school.

Next time she says "it will get you places" ask her to elaborate. "like where?"

besides... it's not like you failed the class....

she said "if you thin kwe are going to let you lie around and watch tv then your wrong"  I think I would still be able to play video games though.  And the thing you said its only use for: exactly why shes making me take it.  But do they really care if you get a b or an a? I dont think so.  I hate the class and I am bad at it so I think a b is really good too

Computeruler, visit these sites and let Mom see how the internet enhances your studies......She'll have no option but to allow you to continue your internet education.....who knows you might learn something, or enough to get you back online.

                Spanish has two uses ........

                1. Spanish will get you  hot dates with Latino chicks who are computer illiterate.

                2. Spanish will get you out of bad neighborhoods when you date the above mentioned Latino chicks.
