Do you want to erase the hard disk, or recover from an error or something?

we want to totally wipe ou the hard drive and restore it back to original. it came with win98 and someone installed win 2000 and both operating systems were on it (its older and cant handle both os's). whe you turn it on it makes you pick which os you want. we want to take everything completely off and restore it to manufacture orginial settings. we put in the recovery disk and choose to wipe out the hard drive and i has said 0% of 100 for 24 hours now.

Instead of using the recovery CD(s), try fdisking the drive to erase everything... Then use the Recovery CD(s) later to boot from...
