This news came as an unwelcome surprise.

Paul Did the C++ Q&A articles in the Microsoft Systems Journal magazine- I read all of his articles as they were included in the April 2000 MSDN library (I didn't have the internet for several years, so my MSDN library had to suffice).

I would have never expected to see this while browsing Matt Pietrek's Blog (another name I encountered in the library, "Under the Hood").

it's been almost a year! I feel out of touch.

Although, Honestly, he could have passed back in 2002 when I was reading his columns since I was severed from the net.
