changing back to IE7 from a new IE8
    « on: July 14, 2009, 12:40:02 PM »
I downloaded IE8 and it seemed to work much slower  than IE7.
I went to the Microsoft sight to try to download IE7 but was notified with a popup that I coud not implement it since I had a newer version.

    Do I have to delete IE7 B4 a new IE8 Download??

Also, I disabled the  HP  digital image monotor icon in my tool tray and IE8 started immediately working faster. What are my issues with that monoter disabled?

      Click  Start  and hit Run.
Next, type the following line into the Run box
          %windir%\ie8\spuninst\spuninst.exe
hit Ok and follow the directions
When it is done uninstalling, Reboot XP

It should be IE7 when you reboot

Image monitor might be hogging resorces. You can disable it at startup. No need for it andit can be started when needed. So I have read :p

you could check add an remove programs then try reinstalling IE 7
Windows 7 RC Tester.  Working on it.  Your monitor says etchasketch on the side!

Process Name : HP Digital Imaging Monitor

        File Name : hpqtra08.exe

Description: System Tray access to HP Director. Required if you prefer to use the all-in-one buttons to manually scan documents or transfer photos from a camera, for example

Rating: Depends if the task is deemed necessary by you

It is for scanning, and you do not need it to run at startup. You can run it if you need it

Dont hijack someone else's post.  Start a new one if you think that you have a serious issue that needs looked at.

The person who asked the question to begin with asked if he could go back to IE7, and asked what HP digital imaging monitor is, and that he thought it might be slowing IE. Nobody hijacked a post here, I dont think

Internet Explorer 8 has a box that appeared on my desktop whenever I attempt to open a program using my desktop icons.  Instead of the file opening I get a box that says "Do you want to open or save this file."  No matter if I click "open" or "save" the file does not open.
