load sound drivers......type dxdiag in the run box.or goto the device manager right click the my computer icon then click properties device manager clcik the + sign sound and video controllers you may see a yellow mark next to it?.is there?/...most win98 run on yamaha drivers?you have no sound on boot up??is your speaakers/headphones connected......via the jack plug?
